Storytelling you can See and Hear, Maybe from Space

When I met with the creator of this music I was struck by the conceptual nature of this album. She had a unique and compelling story to tell. Since the idea of the album was about interstellar communication, I focused on how sound looks as waveforms and reverberations. The gradients represent the ethereal quality of the music and the ever changing tonality. I even created an alien language to add to the visual story.

Flight Call is a conceptual album that is based on interstellar communication. Flight calls are vocalisations made by birds in flight, often serving to keep flocks together. The concept of this album is that one of the aliens has been left behind on earth and is calling to their people to bring them back home. The voice is ethereal and hauntingly beautiful.

I developed graphic elements to enhance the storytelling that included a logo, abstract sound waves, custom gradients, and alien language symbology. Deliverables included an album design, liner notes, a download booklet and digital assets for promotion.
